“Be like a postage stamp – stick to one thing until you get there.” John Billings
I have been listening to an audio where the speaker is talking about tenacity. He talks about how young children have great tenacity when they want something even though they don’t have the experience to know how they can get it. They don’t allow the challenges to stop them. They keep on until they get what they want. Those of us who are parents will know what he means. They wear you down until you give in, like water can wear down the obstacles in its path over time. Another word could be resolve, to do whatever it takes to reach your goal or dream.
Napoleon Hill in his book, “Think and Grow Rich,” talks about persistence & says, “The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL. Will power and desire, when properly combined, make an irresistible pair.” Some of us give up at the first sign of opposition and may say that it is what the universe has decreed. Others of us will carry on despite the challenges until we get what we want. Hill says, “persistence is to a person’s character what carbon is to steel.” What are you currently doing that is causing you to waver in your tenacity to hang on until you get there?
Enjoy using your Will Power!
