“It’s not what you are that holds you back, it’s what you think you are not.” Denis Waitley
Unfortunately there are a lot of people in the world who have not been encouraged to believe in themselves. They believe they are lacking something & if they possessed it, they could be successful or at least achieving more than they are at the moment. We are all born with the ability to do whatever we really want to do. Even those people with disability can achieve great things. We all know countless stories that can back up my claim. We already possess everything we need to move forward in life. The only disconnect is in our belief, that leads us down the path of mediocrity or settling for a lesser standard.
This feeling of lack can be directly associated to a low self-esteem which can be caused by a lot of different things, such as parent’s or teacher’s thoughtless comments at a vulnerable time in our lives; school friends making fun of us because we look too different, speak differently or don’t achieve in the sports teams; jealous siblings or classmates putting us down because they think it makes them look superior; bullying. The list goes on. So how long are you going to allow those thoughts and beliefs to keep you chained? Focus on the assets you do have, and I’m not talking about your car or house here. We all have at least one strength, so go ahead, find them, and show the world how good it is to be you.
Enjoy that feeling when you are in the Zone!
