“Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it!” Maya Angelou
Have you noticed how persistent children are when they want something? They are not afraid to ask over & over for what they want, until they get it. They can be very persistent. In his book, ‘Think and Grow Rich,’ Napoleon Hill says, that the “quality of persistence is to a person’s character what carbon is to steel.” He also says, that “lack of persistence is one of the major causes of failure.” I don’t know about you, but often we consider asking for help as a sign of neediness and that might sound weak. And for you guys in particular, out there, being seen as weak is putting yourself in a place of vulnerability.
For those of you brought up on the bible’s wisdom will know the words, “Ask and ye shall receive.” This has been brought into all the teachings about the ‘Law of Attraction.’ However for these more recent teachings we are being told, that although you should ask and have an expectation to receive, there is also an element of taking steps to work towards the expected outcome. This teaching doesn’t take into account those serendipitous things that happen without having taken any steps in that particular direction. The expectation part is all to do with the energy we have in our field. If we keep second guessing and doubting this will be the predominant energy of asking that will go out into the universe and we won’t attract what we are wanting and think we have asked for. If we truly expect a certain outcome without being attached to it being exactly as we wanted, what we have asked for, will materialise, but maybe not in the time frame you were planning on.
