Original or Copy?

“You were born an original, don’t die a copy.”

I wish I could say I had coined this. Michael Angelo was once quoted saying, that to create David from that raw block of marble he had to chip away everything that wasn’t David. Over the years we learn habits from others, we become conditioned to a certain way of thinking & believing that may have served us back then, and we’ve built a kind of armour with these beliefs about ourselves. We’ve made decisions that have created a certain way of being that don’t serve us as an adult. It can become our life’s work to chip away at whatever is NOT you and allow the original blueprint of you to shine through.

We are each unique in our own way, as are our parents and siblings. Although we appear to have most of the same experiences as our siblings, because of all sorts of things, including being born an original, we see, hear, smell, taste and feel our experiences differently. We build up a different picture of the world and then filter all our experiences accordingly. If we don’t realise that, we go through life living someone else’s dream, someone else’s expectations. Sometimes it can be because we see the life of someone who is a sports or film star, or someone you know who appears to be living a life that looks better than your own. At the end of the day we will all feel more fulfilled if we live the life we feel in our hearts is right for us. And ultimately die as the original we were meant to be.

Enjoy living the life of the original blueprint!
